You can apply for Italian citizenship


1. ºÎ¸ð¿Í Á¶ºÎ¸ð ÃÊûÀ¸·Î. By descent.

If you have Italian parents, or in some cases grandparents,
By descent . Italian citizenship can be obtained if a person¡¯s parents or grandparents were citizens of the country. The process of obtaining a passport through ancestry is similar to naturalization, except it is faster as you can apply for citizenship after three years of residence in the country. The applicant confirms his Italian origin with official documents.



2. Ãâ»ýÀ¸·Î. By birthright.

If you¡¯re born in Italy,
By birthright . A child of Italian citizens automatically acquires citizenship, even if he was born in another country. Children who were born in Italy also receive citizenship if their parents are unknown.



3. È¥ÀÎÀ¸·Î. By marriage.

By marriage. Those who marry Italian citizens do not automatically receive an Italian passport. However, this does speed up the procedure for obtaining citizenship. You can apply in two or three years depending on the place of residence.
If you¡¯re married to an Italian and live in Italy, you can claim Italian citizenship through marriage two years after your wedding. If you live outside of Italy, the wait time is 3 years, although the waiting period is reduced 50% if you have children.

Documents:
¤Ñ copy of the residence permit in Italy;
¤Ñ police clearance certificates for all family members in Italy, each country of residence and country of citizenship;
¤Ñ payment receipt of the fee in the amount of ¢æ 250;
¤Ñ four photographs; postal stamp. In addition to the basic documents, the applicant for citizenship



4. Àå±âü·ù ¹æ¹ýÀ¸·Î. By naturalization

if you live in Italy for long enough.
By naturalization . A person receives a residence permit card to move to Italy. After five years of residence, you can apply for permanent residence and for Italian citizenship after another five years. You need to permanently reside in the country for ten years, receive income and pay taxes.



5. ÅõÀÚ¸¦ ÅëÇØ. Investment.

ÅõÀڽà 2³â °ÅÁÖÇã°¡ + 3³â °ÅÁÖÇã°¡ ¿¬Àå + 5³â°£ ¿µÁÖ±Ç + 10³âÈÄ ½Ã¹Î±Ç.
There¡¯s no specific route to citizenship through investment. Although being an entrepreneur or investor might help you get your visa in the first place, you¡¯ll still have to live in Italy for long enough to meet the residency requirements before your application will be considered.
Italian citizenship cannot be obtained by investment but the country has a residence permit program.
Applicants choose from four investment options:
¢æ 250,000+  – investments in innovative startups;
¢æ 500,000+  – investments in the authorized capital of Italian compani
¢æ 1,000,000+  – investments in socially significant projects;
¢æ 2,000,000+  – purchase of government bonds.
The investor confirms the legality of receiving funds for the investment contribution and undergoes Due Diligence.
A residence permit is issued for two years. It can then be extended for three years provided that the investment is maintained. Investors are not required to live in Italy if they do not want to obtain citizenship.
Investors receive citizenship by naturalization under general conditions. After five years of permanent residence, the investor receives permanent residence and after ten years, citizenship.



6. ÀԾ翡 ÀÇÇØ. Upon adoption.

A child adopted by Italian citizens acquires citizenship from the moment of adoption.



7. °øÇåÀ¸·Î. Serving for the government.

After serving for the Italian government  for five years, even outside Italy. In this case, you do not need to live in the country for ten years to obtain citizenship.



½ÅûÈÄ ´ë±â½Ã°£

Waiting time in this case depends on circumstance – from 4 years for people with Italian heritage, to 10 years, for those coming to Italy from outside of EU.



±¸ºñ¼­·ù

For any method of obtaining Italian citizenship, you will need:
¤Ñ applicant¡¯s questionnaire;
¤Ñ originals of passports, notarized and translated copies of passports of all family members;
¤Ñ copy of the residence permit in Italy;
¤Ñ police clearance certificates for all family members in Italy, each country of residence and country of citizenship;
¤Ñ payment receipt of the fee in the amount of ¢æ 250;
¤Ñ four photographs;
¤Ñ postal stamp.


Once your citizenship is arranged, you can apply for an Italian passport. Getting a passport is a separate process from citizenship, there are further fees to pay.
If you¡¯re not already familiar with money in Italy, you¡¯ll want to do a bit of research, as there will be 2 separate fees, which amount to EUR 116 for a regular passport.
